Drug Bust In The Hill

The cops seized 65 grams of crack worth $6,500 on the street during a raid on Plymouth Street in the Hill.

The department’s Tactical Narcotics Unit carried out the raid Friday afternoon. Three people tried to flee the scene. One officer caught a fleeing man in a foot chase, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery; two others tried driving away but crashed into a vacant house on Greenwich Avenue.

Police found a .40-caliber Glock handgun inside the alleged drug-dealing apartment — as well as two preschoolers.

In other police activity, according to Avery:

Police arrested a 22-year-old man Friday night for allegedly mugging someone outside Crown Fried Chicken on Whalley Avenue around 11 p.m.

Center Street Lounge was the source of alleged problems after midnight Sunday morning. Cops arrested two men and seized a loaded CZ52 semi-automatic pistol when responding to a hit and run call in the parking lot next to the club. Hours later a woman showed up at the Hospital of St. Raphael saying someone had struck her in the head with a gun at the club.
