Colon.
Two New Haven alders, Dolores Colon of the Hill and Santiago Berrios-Bones of Fair Haven, spoke about what they’re up to in elected office — and about the upcoming Oct. 15 Board of Alders’ Black and Hispanic Caucus annual gala, a fundraiser for youth and elder programs — on the latest episode of WNHH radio’s “K Pasa.”
Berrios-Bones.
“K Pasa,” hosted by La Voz Hispana Publisher Norma Rodriguez-Reyes, presents a new format for shows on WNHH, where the show is aired twice — once in Spanish, and once in English. To listen to either or both and find out why “Wherever we go, they know New Haven’s in the house,” click on the audio files below or find the program in iTunes or any podcatcher under “WNHH Community Radio.”
I (partly) listened to the Spanish version and was appalled at how badly it was spoken. To state, "oh well, before you criticize us, some people grew up in New York..." etc.
That is utterly ridiculous. If you wanted to improve you Spanish speaking abilities and not make a total fool of yourself, you can, make the effort. I had to stop listening mid-broadcast. I was turning red from the embarrassment.
Either speak it well, (and with some dignity) or just don't bother.
