Another union has lined up behind the mayoral candidacy of state Sen. Toni Harp, this time Local 825 of the International Association of Firefighters.
The union announced its endorsement in a release Sunday.
“Toni is the most qualified and experienced candidate in the race,” local President James Kottage stated in the release. “She is the only person who can bring people together and move this city forward.”
The union endorsed Mayor John DeStefano in the 2011 mayoral race. Read about that here.
Harp has previously received the endorsements of the Central Labor Council and Yale’s UNITE HERE locals. Read about that here.
Henry Fernandez, one of four other Democrats running for mayor this year, has received the backing of the laborers union and the electrical workers union. Read about that here and here.
