At 8:22 a.m Tuesday, United Illuminating was reporting that 5,229 New Haven customers were out of power thanks to Tropical Storm Sandy.
That’s out of 53,705 customers in town.
That represents 9.74 percent of the city.
New Haven fared better than all other surrounding community, based on a UI chart.
Somehow a purported 103.45 percent of UI’s Redding customers lost power, according to the chart.
