Lloyd Street Home Invaded
Responding to a knock at the back door, the occupants of a third-floor apartment on Lloyd Street found themselves overpowered by three men, police said.
Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:
The home invasion took place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at 260 Lloyd St. in Fair Haven. Victims told police that they had heard a knock at the back door, looked out and saw three men, one of whom had a gun. The men forced their way in and ordered the occupants to lay down. They took phones and money, and assaulted two people. Both victims were treated at the hospital.
Avery said police will be conducting stepped up DUI enforcement throughout the city on Thursday, Dec. 23. A sobriety checkpoint may be set up at Elm and Temple streets, Avery said.
