Man, 20, Shot Dead In Hill

(Updated) A 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday on the 500 block of Ella Grasso Boulevard.

Police found the man there around 7:30 a.m. He’d been shot multiple” times.

The man was identified Monday as Daryl McIver. (He is also listed as Darrell McIver in state court records.)

Police haven’t arrested anybody in connection with the homicide. They ask anyone with information to call the Major Crimes Unit at (203) 946‑6304.

Cops originally responded to a report of gunshots in the neighborhood a little after 2 a.m. They didn’t find anything.

The next morning they received a call from someone at a business on the block. They showed up to find McIver’s body shot through with bullets. he was already dead. He was on the grounds of the property, not inside the factory building.

Police said Monday morning that they don’t know of a motive for the homicide.

At the time of his death McIver had four drug and burglary-related felony charges pending. He pleaded not guilty. The charges stem from a June 21 arrest.
