A cop accused of drunken misconduct in a downtown bar had his case continued for the second time on Friday.
Officer Jason Bandy’s case was on the morning docket in Courtroom A of Connecticut Superior Court on Elm Street Friday. But his attorney, Gregory Cerritelli, arranged for the case to be continued until Jan. 25.
Bandy, 24, was arrested in November after an incident at the Center Street Lounge on Oct. 30. Police say the rookie cop called in sick to work, then went out to the bar, where he got drunk and urinated on the floor of the bathroom. He refused to leave when staff tried to evict him, police said. The incident is detailed in an arrest warrant affidavit.
Police Chief James Lewis has recommended that Bandy be fired. The police commission will meet on Tuesday to make that call.
Friday was the second time that Bandy’s court appearance has been postponed.
