New York’s Radio City Music Hall has a deserved rep as a hallowed hall. But it can’t beat New Haven’s Toad’s Place.
Don’t take our word for it. Take the word of a panel of national music-industry vets who put together a new list of the country’s best “places that rock.”
Their top 20 list of “Best Big Rooms in America” came out in Rolling Stone magazine. Radio City made the list, of course, at #15. #14? York Street’s Toads. It put New Haven among the ranks of the country’s top markets.
Check it out here. New Haven has checked out Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, and everyone from 999, Israel Vibration and Blackalicious to George Clinton, Joanna Newsom and Matisyahu and too many other great musicians to mention up close at the club for decades;
