Police arrested a teenager in connection to a birthday party shooting at a Dixwell home.
Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:
The shooting took place on Friday at 6:40 p.m. on Dickerman Street, the same one-block street where 13-year-old Jajuana Cole was killed during a party three and a half years ago.
Friday’s shooting took place at a birthday party on the second floor of 82 Dickerman St. People at the party told police a first-floor neighbor shot into the house. No one was injured. The 19-year-old neighbor had been at the party, got into an argument, then pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot people, witnesses told police. They said he left the party then fired the gun into the house.
Police were unable to find the suspect on Friday night. They caught up with him Saturday afternoon, when the suspect was spotted driving in West Haven. Cops arrested the teem with the help of West Haven police. The passenger of the car was arrested, too, on narcotics charges.

When gunshots flew outside his Lloyd Street home, a 51-year-old man knew what to do: It was the third shooting at his house. This time, no one was hit.
A 51-year-old man called police at 7 p.m. on Sunday night, complaining of gunshots. He told police that two males rode by his Lloyd Street house on bikes and fired five or six shots in the air. Neighbors confirmed the account, but no ballistic evidence was found.
The caller had lived through two shootings at his home before: One time, the 51-year-old was the shooting victim. Another time, his son got shot.
Shooting Victim Critical
Police are seeking leads on a shooting that took place after 8 p.m. Friday on Shelton Avenue in Newhallville. ShotSpotter reported gunshots. Police arrived and found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the stomach. He was taken to the hospital and was in critical condition on Monday afternoon, police said. The victim told police that he was walking with a friend when three or four men approached him, tried to rob him, and shot him in the process. Police ask that anyone with information about this crime call detectives at (203) 946‑6316.
A pizza delivery man was robbed at gunpoint on Truman Street on Sunday at 9 p.m. He told police two men approached him while he was walking to a house with pizzas. The took $40 and the pies. One of the muggers went to the delivery car and stole a GPS and cell phone.
A woman was robbed at 11 p.m. on Sunday near the corner of Temple and Crown Streets. Two teenage gilrs threatened her with a box cutter and a bottle of what they claimed was mace. They took two purses. The muggers were later apprehended and identified by the victim and several witnesses. Police suspect the pair may be tied to several downtown robberies.
A man was stabbed and robbed near Grand Avenue and Lloyd Street on Monday at 2:45 a.m. The victim told police that three men approached him. One had a handgun. They ripped a white gold necklace from the victim’s neck. He began fighting them and was stabbed in the arm with an unknown object.
On Monday at 10:30 a.m., a robbery was reported at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at the corner of Church and Crown Streets. The suspects were spotted running toward the Church Street South housing development. A foot chase ensued. One suspect was caught by Officer Warren Palmer, whose hand was injured during the struggle.
