The Youth Services Committee of the New Haven Board of Alders will hold a workshop at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1 in the Alder Chamber of City Hall, 165 Church St., to:
• Plan a city-wide Service Day for youth to participate in community-service projects like neighborhood clean-up, performing for seniors, reading to peers in lower grades, and feeding the homeless.

The Public Safety Committee of the New Haven Board of Alders will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Alder Chamber of City Hall, 165 Church St., re:
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, OFFICE OF THE ARTS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $5,000.00 TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT AND CONSULTATION SERVICES TO ESTABLISH AN EXHIBIT SHOWCASING THE HISTORY OF THE NEW HAVEN POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND TO ACCEPT SUCH FUNDS IF OFFERED AND TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS AND CONTRACTS AS NECESSARY.
In addition, the committee will hold a workshop on the following legislative matter:
