(Updated) Most regained power Monday morning after the season’s first blizzard knocked out the lights in thousands of New Haven homes overnight, according to United Illuminating (UI).
UI spokesman Al Carbone said 6,440 New Haven customers lost power between Sunday evening and Monday morning.
A large block of those lost power for a short while: 3,441 homes went dark for just 11 minutes around 5 a.m. Monday morning, Carbone said.
As of 11:52 a.m. Monday, UI’s outage map showed 46 New Haven homes remaining without power.
Carbone said those homes are scattered across the city. The outages were due to 135 different events affecting 2,195 customers across the state at the time, Carbone said.
