Branford is going to the scarecrows. But only until Sunday. So get yourself over to Town Hall to see this scary monster.
The seventh annual Branford Garden Club Scarecrow project can be viewed until this Sunday on the Town Green, so hurry and bring the kids before it’s over. The Garden Club Scarecrow sign welcomes visitors to the town green.
There are 30 displays representing everything from a number of schools in town, to realtors, non-profit organizations, and local businesses. Here’s a friendly scarecrow face.
The event is organized by the Branford Garden Club as one of its yearly club activities. Program chair Rodney Hayes (pictured) said, “This is always a popular program that we do each year. There’s always youngsters running around with their parents or grandparents looking at the scarecrows and having their pictures taken with them.”
Schools that have displays this year include the John Sliney Elementary School display (pictured), St. Mary’s School, Walsh Intermediate School, Mary Murphy, and the Pine Orchard Nursery School. The Branford Early Learning Center also has a display.
