This past weekend the high school sports season came to a close.
Although a number of Branford teams made it to the post season in either the Southern Connecticut Conference or state playoffs there were no titles.
However, the effort on the part of a number of athletes resulted in their being selected as “All Conference” by the league’s coaches.
Players on seven different Branford teams earned this recognition.
Those chosen were players from both the boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams, boys’ tennis, boys’ and girls’ track and boys’ baseball and girls’ softball.
Girls’ Lacrosse also had a trio make the all conference team. Shown above are L‑R senior Caroline Murphy, freshman Autumn McHenry and senior Cara Broughal.
Senior Matt Sachs was the lone boys tennis player chosen
The Boys’ 4X800 track team of Luke Arsenault, Nathan D’Amico, Alec Janis and Ryan Connell all seniors were outstanding all-year round. They pose with their coach Rich Biondi (center).
