Teens Carjack 92-Year-Old

Two teens threw a 92-year-old man to the ground and stole his car.

The incident occurred Saturday on Warner Street in Hamden.

The man was was operating his vehicle in a rear parking lot, looking for scrap wood inside of dumpsters,” Hamden police spokesperson Capt. Ronald Smith wrote in a release.

Two male teens dressed in black clothing” flagged the man down.

One of the teens opened the driver’s side door, grabbed the victim and threw him onto the ground. The teens subsequently entered the elderly victim’s vehicle and fled eastbound towards Warren Street. There were no reported injuries,” Smith wrote.

He reported that police located the stolen car Sunday parked on Third Street. Police, who have leads and hope to make an arrest soon,” ask anyone with information on the crime to call Officer Kyle Sampognaro at (203) 230‑4030.
