Five Yale cops responded to the “Call of Duty.”
Unfortunately, they were responding to the video game by that name. Not their job.
And they were on duty.
As a result, they’re now off duty.
The incident occurred one night in December.
Yale has no official comment. “We don’t comment on disciplinary or personnel matters,” said university spokesperson Karen Peart.
According to numerous people involved in the incident, the officers went inside a Yale building while on duty. They proceeded to dive into a group game of Call of Duty.
Another member of the force caught them and reported it. An internal investigation ensued.
Last week one member of the group of officers, Sgt. Thomas Nguyen-Phuoc, resigned rather than face a possible firing.
The four other officers involved are now serving 10-day suspensions.
