The Community Development Committee of the Board of Aldermen will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, in the Aldermanic Chamber of City Hall, 165 Church St., re:

—Ordinance amendment providing a more efficient permit process for signs, awnings, canopies and marquees for commercial establishments that project over the public right of way (part of Alderman Paca’s 2011 Economic Development Legislative Package)

—From the Economic Development Administrator submitting an order authorizing execution of a footings easement with the Sophie Group at 142 River Street for a new facility at 100 River Street in the River Street Municipal Development Project.

—From Transportation, Traffic and Parking authorizing a Third Supplemental Agreement with the state to accept $1,426,000 for a computerized traffic signal system and hardware upgrades at 14 locations in the city-ConnDOT Projects 92 – 488; 92 – 564.

—From Cultural Affairs submitting an order authorizing the application to and acceptance of an Our Town grant not to exceed $100,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts to support the expansion and operation of project storefronts.
