The Human Services Committee of the New Haven Board of Aldermen will hold a public hearing at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 in the Aldermanic Chamber of City Hall, 165 Church St., re:
Resolution of the Board of Aldermen of the City of New Haven authorizing the application to and acceptance of a grant from the First City Fund Corporation (FCFC) to conduct a feasibility study on the potential rollout of debit card function for the New Haven Elm City Resident Card.
Resolution authorizing the APPLICATION TO AND ACCEPTANCE OFCONTINUATION Preventive health block grant IN THE AMOUNT OF $26,563 from the Connecticut Department of public health fOR THE PERIOD july 1, 2012 to june 30, 2013 TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS AIMED AT REDUCING OBESITY, PHYSICAL INACTIVITY AND UNINTENTIONAL INJURY.
The committee will also hold a workshop to receive a presentation on secondhand smoke from Dr. Mario Garcia, Director of the City of New Haven Health Department.

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OFCONTRACT TO (CDC) CENTER FOR DISEASES CONTROL IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,066,155 FOR COMMUNITIES PUTTING PREVENTION TO WORK GRANT FOR TWO(2) YEARS 07/01/2010 THROUGH 06/30/2012
Resolution authorizing the Mayor of the City of New Haven to apply for and accept the Accreditation Preparation: Community Health Assessments and Community Health Improvement Plans Demonstration Site Project grant award from the National Association of County and City Health Officials in the amount of approximately $35,000.
Resolution of the board of aldermen authorizing the Mayor to apply for and accept the MOBILIZING ACTION TOWARD COMMUNITY HEALTH: COMMUNITY grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in the amount of $200,000 for community safety intervention for the period of october 2011 to september 2013.
