Allen Robert Thomas (more commonly known as “Uncle Al”), of New Haven passed away suddenly December 31, 2021 at his home.
Allen was the husband of the late Deborah Ann Santa Maria Thomas. Born in New Haven on September 27, 1954, son of the late Al and Ruth Heyward Thomas, Al worked for Medtronic for many years. He was a well-known and talented musician. Uncle Al and his band Stride had entertained for many years. He is the father of Alyse (Zac) Putnam and Allen Thomas Jr. Stepfather of Michael Santa Maria and Krystal Marie James. Brother of Diane Christie, Debra Kim Thomas, Richard and David Thomas. He is also survived by his loving companion Cheryl, bandmates, and too many friends to count.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 at Church on the Rock, 95 Hamilton St. in New Haven. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 followed by a service. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Masks are required for all services. The Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. is in care of his arrangements.
