Bernetta Elnaurice Howlett, 64

Bernetta Elnaurice Howlett, 64, of New Haven, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. She was born in Meriden, CT to Margaret Meadows Howlett and the late David Howlett on March 9, 1957.

Bernetta worked as a CPA for many years. She was also an Eastern Star.

Bernetta was very outspoken and strong willed. She enjoyed giving her opinion and simply having great conversations with people. She was a sharp dresser and enjoyed showing off style wherever she went. If you ever stopped by to visit Bernetta, you could guarantee to see an old black and white film entertaining her. She especially loved Vincent Price films. 

Bernetta loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with them and making lasting memories. She was known for her fried chicken, and everyone knew she made the best fried chicken. 

Bernetta leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Margaret Howlett; father of her children, Michael Benjamin; son, Wayne Alexander Howlett; daughter, Stacy Delilah Howlett; granddaughter, Promise Howlett; brother, Darryl (Irene) Johnson; sisters, Panthea Davis, Sheila Alford, Gwendolyn Barnes, Gail Nixon, and Mercedes (Darrow) White; and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of her life will take place Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at The New Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C., 285 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Friday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Services by Howard K.
