Bettie Abraham.
Bettie Jane Abraham, 85, of New Haven, was born October 18, 1937 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Bettie peacefully left this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at her home.
She was the first child of Sophia Lee Hailey McGrier. Bettie was married James A. Abraham for over 50 plus years until he passed in 2009. Together, they relocated to Connecticut. She dedicated many years of service before she retired from Turbine Components Company Branford, CT. She worshiped the Lord at St. Anthony’s Church in New Haven. She was always willing to help family, friends, and loved ones. Bettie had a passion for cooking. Everyone respected her love of reading and black history. She loved to sing songs, especially gospel music.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Allen and Keefe; grandchildren, Jasmine, Shayna, Keefe, Jr., a brother, Sloan Jr.; two sisters, Carolyn and Vicky; a host of aunts, cousins; and friends all who will all miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her brothers, David and Donald and her sister Audry.
