Craig A. Weyler was the first of two children born to Alfredo and Dorothy Weyler, on September 16, 1954, in New York, N.Y.
While still at a young age, his family moved to Connecticut, and it was there that Craig attended Staples High School. He loved sports as a young man, teaching his younger sister, Desiree, everything she knows and would talk of enjoying a run in very hot weather.
Craig was a smart, opinionated, oppositional, defiant, sometimes stubborn man. He was a good person and a genuine soul who marched to his own drum, whether while working for himself selling items on ebay, or creating something new in the kitchen while being the chef at home.
Craig inherited from his father a voracious appetite for the news, a love of sports, cooking, and an artistic talent and he appreciated art in various forms, from tattoos to photography. Always carrying a camera on trips local and far away, he loved to travel, taking photos along the way. With a love for professional cycling, he once bought a custom racing bike in Milan, Italy when he and his family vacationed there. He was a foodie who couldn’t resist a rare steak or a good wine or beer. Also inherting a green thumb from his father, in the spring and summer Craig enjoyed tending to the beautiful garden he planted in the back yard.
Craig leaves a hole in the lives and shared spaces of his long-time partner, Sherie McGregor and her family; his sister, Desiree Weintraub; brother-in-law, Joseph Weintraub; niece, Robyn Weintraub; and an extension of friends.
