Isabel Maria Aviles Benitez, age 61, of Lenox Street, New Haven, CT, entered into eternal rest, April 24, 2009. She was the wife of Miguel A. Benitez, Sr. Born in Vega Baja, P.R, November 15, 1947, she was the daughter of Rosa Rodriguez and the late Jose Manuel Aviles. She was previously employed at Covidien (U.S. Surgical Corporation) for twenty years. In addition to her husband and mother, she leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Brenda L. Colon Rosario (Eliezer); son, Miguel A. Benitez Jr. (Evelyn); grandchildren, Eliezer and Breneliz Rosario, and Miguel A. and Francisco Benitez; sisters, Viris Escamilla (Baldemar), Cuqui Guerrero (Jose), Sonia Marin (Ricardo), Neida Nazario (Jose), and Daisy Maldonado (Freddy); brothers, Jose Rodriguez (Carmen), Harry Rodriguez (Liset), and Edwin Rodriguez (Rosa); a special niece, Luz Benitez; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by sisters, Miriam and Ivy Sandra Rodriguez and Dolores Torres (Luis); and brothers Norberto, Angel L. (Ana), and Ramon A. (Maria) Rodriguez. Homegoing service and a celebration of Mrs. Benitez’s life and legacy will be held Monday, April 27, 2009 from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
