James L. “Lee” Ponteau, Jr., 45, of New Haven, departed this life April 13, 2009. He was the husband of Maria A. Ponteau.
Born in New Haven, October 2, 1963, he was the son of James L. Ponteau, Sr. and Ruth Ponteau. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his children, Kevin, Javon, and Alexis Ponteau; a brother, Milton Greene; sisters, Eva Branch (Kevin) and Gwendolyn Ponteau; a granddaughter, Suniyah Ponteau; his stepchildren, Michael Graves and Sheala Westley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Mr. Ponteau’s life will be held Friday, April 17, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Agape Christian Center, 90 Goffe St., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
