John Wesley Logan, Jr., 80

John Wesley Logan, Jr., 80, of New Haven, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

John was born in Mount Vernon, NY, to the late John and Lillian F. Logan on June 17, 1941. John served honorably in the United States Army. He worked for over 30 years, retiring as a fork lift operator. 

John, also affectionately known as Jay by those who knew him, was a man of faith who worked hard to provide for his family. He took joy in sharing the Word of God with others, encouraging them to keep God first, and laughing with his loved ones. He loved music, especially gospel and jazz, and was passionate about giving to charity. One of John’s favorite pastimes was cooking, especially homemade pizza for his family and friends to enjoy. 

John’s famous saying that his family wishes to hold onto was good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until your good is better and your better is best.” 

John leaves behind daughters, Annette and Jeanette Logan; grandchildren, Tiffany Stewart, Terrance Logan, and Johnte Logan; siblings, Jeanette Horner and George Logan; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Logan.

A celebration of his life will take place Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Church On the Rock, 95 Hamilton St, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Thursday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Services by Howard K.
