Kathleen Williams (Kathy), 82, of New Haven, passes away on October 13, 2020. Kathleen was born on January 7, 1938 in Columbia, SC to the late Ryan Thompson Sr. and Hattie Mae Myers Thompson.
Kathleen pursued her High School education in the South, then relocated to Connecticut where she met her beloved husband for 30 years, the late Gary Carl Williams.
Kathleen dedicated herself as a Jehovah’s Witness on July 1, 1972, and her gracious relationship with Jehovah directed her to a path of many righteous friendships in the truth. She was an ongoing participant in Christian activities such as studying the bible and sharing bible truths with others. Despite her health challenges, Kathleen’s faith in Jehovah’s promise of a resurrection was strong. She would sing the words: “Sing out with a joy of heart, you can have a part, live for the day when you’ll say, life without end at last” John 3:16”. Holding family dear and being a humble servant of Jehovah was the foundation of her life.
Kathleen worked for the City of New Haven Hillhouse High School for 10 years until she successfully retired. She was an elegant, sociable, loved to laugh and a personality that was irresistible until her very last days on earth. She was also Thankful for everything that Jehovah has blessed her with being the matriarch of the family, Kathleen taught respect, love and to be God fearing. Kathleen was loved by many and will be remembered by all that have had the pleasure to bare witness to her smile and conversations.
Kathleen is survived by her beloved beautiful children, Fathiya Renee Williams, Alisa Faith Howard (Tom), Elana Williams Rountree (Wayne) Gary Williams Jr. (Candice) ; grandchildren, Candice Monique Williams, Garyn Lynel Ford, Carl Dana Williams Jr (CJ) and Dion Williams.
She was predeceased by her son, Carl Dana Williams; brothers; Henry Jr., Sam, Ryan, and Roosevelt Thompson; sisters, Jesse Thompson, and Peggy Bowman Thompson.
A walk-thru visitation will be Wednesday October 21, 2020 from 8 — 9:00 AM at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511. A celebration of life will be private.
