Lanee Deshawne Heyward, 35, of New Haven gained her wings on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Lanee was born July 18, 1986 to the late Wayne Vernon Heyward and Jacqueline Gomes Heyward of New Haven.
Lanee aka Deshawne grew up in New Haven, she received her education from New Haven Public School system and attended Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School.
Growing up Lanee cherished spending time with her mother, sister, aunts and cousins. Lanee was outgoing and full of laughter. She was well known for her infectious laugh and jokes. She never missed an opportunity to have a good time, it was embedded in her personality!
Lanee leaves to cherish her memory, a son Mahki Heyward; and two daughters, Robin Hill and Charli Heyward.
She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Gomes Heyward; sisters, Kashonda Lawrence Bowles (Davian) and Elesha Williams (Jerome); aunts, Shirley Rogers (Heyward), Judy Beamon (Reginald), Diane A. Sylvester(Jacob), and Marilyn Y. Green (Kevin); uncles, Wilbert Heyward, Kevin Heyward, Ronald Heyward, Gary Heyward, William Heyward, LeRoy Gomes, Jr. (Rhonda), Charles D. Gomes (Vivian), James I. Gomes, Anthony G. Gomes (Mary), John Gomes, and Germone Gomes; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Lanee was predeceased by her father, Wayne V Heyward; sister, Maya Ricks; grandmothers, Katherine Heyward Bonilla and Dorothy L. Berry Gomes; and grandfather, Leroy R. Gomes, Sr.
