Marquis Lamar Barnes was born April 16, 1980 in New Haven, son of Junious and Carolyn Barfield-Barnes.
Marquis departed this life on Saturday, April 3. 2021. He graduated from Eli Whitney Tech. in 1998 and attended Lincoln Tech. for Culinary Arts.
He was employed at the Courtyard Marriott New Haven as a chef and in his spare time he enjoyed cooking for others, especially his parents and cooking holiday dinners for his Nana. He leaves two daughters; Leeana Barnes (Luis) and Jordan Barnes; Loving brother, Todney Barfield of Orlando FL.; and maternal grandmother, Shirley Barfield of North Haven, CT.; 3 nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Douglas Barfield and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Lizzie Mangum.
