Michael W. J. Androdic Chavis, 60, of New Haven, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was the son of Gloria (Chavis) Perkins and stepson to Harry Perkins. Michael was born on June 29, 1960, in Lumberton, NC and he came to New Haven in 1966.
Michael graduated from James Hillhouse High School. Following graduation, he worked for numerous restaurants as a line cook before heading over to Yale University as a chef. Cooking and music were his passion.
You can always remember Mike having a hat on with a big smile on his face. He loved to have a good time. He will be greatly missed.
Besides his parents, Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Jamell Buskey; daughter, Rhashika Traynham; four grandchildren; nephew, Eugene Brown; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Eugene Chavis.
