Mildred Ann Tanner Warner, 83, departed her life on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the Pierremont Healthcare Services in Shreveport, Louisiana.
She was born in Danville, Virginia, on November 24, 1935, to the late James Tanner and Betty Mae Ferguson Tanner. Mildred graduated from J.M. Langston High School in Danville, VA; and attended North Carolina A&T University for a short time. She was a member of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, New Haven, Connecticut, and the Connecticut Mass Choir under the direction of Professor Louis T. Gibson. Mildred was formerly employed at the Youth Continuum Program, a Head Teacher with the Head Start Program and a Community Relations Worker with the City of New Haven Board of Education Public Schools; including formerly employed at (ACES) Area Cooperative Educational Services, Milford, Connecticut.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Cynthia Ballard, New Haven, Connecticut, and Marcella Warner, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and one son, Ralph Warner, Shreveport, Louisiana. Three Grandchildren, Brittany Martin, Atlanta, Georgia; Ramona Warner,Shreveport, Louisiana; and Bentley Ballard, New Haven, Connecticut.
Three Great-grandchildren, Xavier, Amari, and Aniya Smith, Atlanta, Georgia; and a Goddaughter, Emarita Reet Leak, New Haven, Connecticut.
A celebration of life will take place Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511.
