Terry L. Miller, Sr. 73, of New Haven, departed this life on December 26, 2019.
Mr. Miller was born in New York, NY, on May 10, 1946, a son of the late Edward L. Miller, Sr. and Delores Bingham Miller.
Prior to retiring, he was employed as a Daycare Licensing Specialist for the State of Connecticut.
Terry was a longtime member of Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hamden as well as member of the Prince Hall Masons, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the National Head Start Association.
He leaves to cherish loving memories, a daughter, Delores S. Williams (Kyle); two sons, Terry L. Miller, Jr. (Alexander Gonzales) and Russell A. Miller (Tricia); brothers, Charles, William and Bobby Miller; a sister, Pamela Epps; three grandchildren, Olivia J. Miller, Laila S. Williams and Mason E. Williams; a sister in-law, Sigrid Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Surverne Watkins Miller; and a brother, Edward Miller, Jr.
A celebration of Mr. Miller’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church, 425 Newhall St., Hamden. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
