Thelma Walker, 95, of New Haven, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2021.
Thelma was born on September 20, 1926, to the late David Walker and Ella McMichael in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She retired from Yale University in 1991. Thelma enjoyed cooking, traveling with the senior group, and gospel music.
She leaves behind her son, Melvin Walker of Waterbury, CT, Grandchildren, Alan and Marlin Walker, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. A niece, Dorthea James of Boston, MA. She was predeceased by a brother, Isaiah Hooks, three sisters, Elease Moody, Christa James, Pinky Amaker and a daughter in law Deborah Walker.
The Calling Hours will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06511.
