Willie Marie Norman, 75, of New Haven, departed this life August 6, 2009.
Born in Rocky Mount, NC, December 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Caesar Williams and Estelle Ross Williams.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at Sargent Manufacturing Co. as a Machine Operator.
She also served as a pianist and choir director at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church for numerous years.
Ms. Norman leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Garlyn Norman; a daughter, Verna Norman; grandchildren, Uriah, Marcus and Gerell Norman, Garland Hagwood, Spencer Gaskins and Shyanne Myers; four great grandchildren; cousins, Lillian Hill and Luther Avent; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Uriah Ervin Norman.
A celebration of Ms. Norman’s life and legacy will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
