After asking a clerk for helping picking out a gift, a “customer” pulled out a gun instead of a wallet at the cash register.
The incident occurred Saturday afternoon at Odeon Boutique and Bootery on Whalley Avenue in Westville Village.
Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman:
A man came into the store asking the employee “for help in picking out a gift for his girlfriend.
“They returned to the register, when instead of buying the item, the man pulled a small silver handgun and demanded the money from the register.”
According to the police report, the employee, a woman, asked the gunman: “Are you fucking serious?”
He indicated that yes, he was serious. She handed over a “small amount of cash.” The man fled. Police are investigating.
