Connecticut Magazine looked at the state’s future — and saw a New Haven entrepreneur, an East Rock alderman and the Independent’s state Capitol bureau chief.
Ben Berkowitz, who founded SeeClickFix, Justin Elicker and Christine Stuart landed on the top “40 under 40” list in the monthly magazine’s latest issue.
This is but the latest accolade for Berkowitz, who’s 31 and has attracted national plaudits and beaucoup angel bucks to develop what’s now a worldwide citizen-driven community-building site, SeeClickFix. It started here in coffeeshops. And it remains downtown.
The cover feature called Elicker “a dedicated community builder in his East Rock neighborhood.” He’s 35 and in his first term on New Haven’s board. He makes the news a lot.
Stuart, meanwhile, writes the news — from sunup to sundown and beyond. Since 2006 she has served as the Independent’s eyes and ears at the state Capitol in Hartford, where she publishes CT News Junkie, the longest-standing go-to online daily news source for state government and political news . Stuart, who’s 33, “saw the evolution of the Internet as an opportunity to deliver news in new and interesting ways,” CT Mag’s Charles Monagan writes in the piece. “Thanks to her, CTNewsJunkie.com has become a staple in Connecticut’s daily news diet.”
