First Monkeypox Case Reported

The state Department of Public Health (DPH) reported Tuesday the first locally known case of monkeypox.

The patient, a man between 40 and 49 years old who lives in Greater New Haven, is isolating and has not been hospitalized,” the department reported.

DPH believes that the risk to Connecticut residents from this case is low,” a release quotes Commissioner Manisha Juthan as saying.
