John Edwards is still running.
The campaign trail Thursday was a celebration and fundraiser for a progressive political group, which honored Edwards — the former presidential candidate who this week delivered an influential endorsement of Democrat Barack Obama, and who is considered on the A‑list of potential running mates.
Edwards spoke at the convention of Demos, a national public policy research and advocacy organization. The group’s president is Connecticut’s Miles Rapoport, the former secretary of state and state representative.
