A 57-year-old Hamden man is being held on $2 million bond after police arrested him for allegedly shooting his wife to death.
Hamden police made and announced the arrest Thursday.
The shooting took place on Dec. 26. Police found the husband and wife inside a car on Pine Rock Avenue and Arch Street. The man had a gunshot wound in his torso. The woman was in the driver’s seat; she’d been shot “multiple” times, and was pronounced dead, according to Hamden police spokesperson Capt. Ronald Smith.
Police first arrested the man on Dec. 28 in connection with the shooting, on a charge of carrying a pistol without a permit and illegal alteration of a firearm. They then amassed the evidence for Thursday’s murder arrest.
The investigation was led by Detective Joseph Liguori.
