Anton Sovetov.

The body of Anton Sovetov, a 44-year-old graphic designer and Yale employee who has been missing since early February, was found on the Long Island shoreline on Saturday.

That’s according to an online announcement published by Yale’s public information office on Wednesday.

The release states that the cause of Sovetov’s death is under investigation by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office on Long Island, with the assistance of Yale and New Haven police.

We will continue to do all we can in the face of this terrible tragedy,” said Yale Chief of Police Ronnell Higgins.

In an obituary for Sovetov that has also been published on Yale’s website, University Printer John Gambell is quoted as saying that Sovetov was one of the most talented designers I have worked with in my 40-year graphic design career, and an irreplaceable member of the university’s communications team.”

New Haven and Yale police had been looking for Sovetov since he first went missing in early February.
