Swine Flu Hits NH

One New Haven resident has contracted the H1N1, or swine, flu, according to state officials.

The case was confirmed Saturday by the department’s Public Health Laboratory, according to William Gerrish, a spokesman for the state Department of Public Health.

Gerrish said that for confidentiality reasons, he could only identify the person as a New Haven resident.

News of the New Haven case was buried in a press release sent Tuesday by the governor’s office. The release announced that 33 swine flu cases have been confirmed across the state.

None of the cases required hospitalization and all are recovering or have since recovered,” reads the release.
