Community leaders hit the runaway — and raised $30,000 for the homeless in the process.
The models, leaders from New Haven government, business and charitable circles, donned clothes from “local up-and-coming designers” as well as from Ninth Square’s Neville Wisdom at a May 1 fundraiser for Liberty Community Services, a community on State Street for people living with HIV/AIDS, mental illness and addiction. The event raised the money to combat homelessness.
Around 250 people attended the event, which WTNH’s Ann Nyberg hosted. Models (pictured) included Mayor Toni Harp, Livable City Initiative chief Erik Johnson, restaurant owners Claire Criscuolo and John Ginetti, fitness expert Ellen Barrett, New Haven Open’s Anne Worcester, Ann Craig from WTNH, Marta Moret from Urban Policy Solutions, United Way’s Jim Travers, and Krystn Wagner of Fair Haven Community Health Center.
