Ned Lamont lashed out at his opponent at a final get-out-the-vote rally in New Haven — not the opponent he needs to beat in Tuesday’s Democratic primary, but the one he expects to face in November.
We need to force suburbs to house more of the poor — and also enlist them in a joint effort to cut our municipal costs.
New Haven State Rep. Roland Lemar delivered that message about the current challenges facing Connecticut’s urban-suburban relationship during a reelection fundraiser and meet-and-greet.

“Ooh,” Eva Bermudez Zimmerman cooed along with little kids who were doting over three goats, several rabbits, a goose, and a brood of young, still furry chicks.
Then she said it is so sad to have separated the chicks from their mom. Her parents, who had a farm in Puerto Rico, taught her that when humans touch the chicks, the mother no longer recognizes them in the same way.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont reeled in another endorsement from a high-profile Connecticut Democrat during a roundtable conversation in downtown New Haven about women’s rights at the local, state and national levels.
The Amalgamated Transit Union, including CT Transit workers from New Haven, has endorsed Susan Bysiewicz, the party-endorsed candidate for lieutenant governor in an Aug. 14 primary. Bysiewicz submitted the following piece about it.
