While Iron Thunderhorse, imprisoned in Texas, hasn’t yet made a decision on whether his tribe will stand with Occupy New Haven in federal court, his wife Little Owl is already making plans for the Quinnipiac to sign a “Sacred Bond of the Covenant” with the occupiers.

Top downtown cop Lt. Rebecca Sweeney arrived at Occupy New Haven at a noon deadline to vacate the premises — and received thank-you hugs from occupiers Don Montano and Broderick “Moose” Lee.
As the final showdown nears for Occupy New Haven, protesters’ attorneys went to court Tuesday to try to save the encampment on the Green — and took aim at the little-known quasi-public, quasi-private quintet that actually owns the park.

They formed a compound in the center of their camp. They raised a defiant black flag overhead. Then New Haven’s “occupiers” stood on the steps of City Hall and ripped up a notice ordering them to leave the Green by noon Wednesday.

New Haven Occupiers finally came face to face with the private power in charge of the New Haven Green, and took part in a public discussion — with consequences for the movement’s future — about what it means for people to freely enjoy the park.
While their counterparts continued to battle authorities in other cities, Occupy New Haven protesters met with officials to discuss how to continue working together when the weather gets warm — and other groups stake claim to the Green.
As she joined a parade of lawmakers ditching an internet piracy bill, New Haven U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro issued a challenge to grassroots technophiles who used newfound political power to help scuttle it.

As temperatures dip below 15 degrees at night, New Haven’s occupiers have two new tools to shield themselves against Old Man Winter: a geodesic igloo and a solar-powered air heater.
The homeless couple Audrey and Ian who live in this pine and holly-decorated tent were out collecting two-liter bottles — not for redemption but for a winter crop going in near their digs at Occupy New Haven.

As an estimated 1,000 demonstrators rallied for jobs and public safety, 19-year-old Latoya Agnew asked whether young people like her cousin would be shot if more New Haveners had jobs. And a new member of the incoming Board of Aldermen, Tyisha Walker, vowed to support city government employees in contract negotiations.
A man dressed in red, white, and blue showed up at the Green Friday evening and began yelling at members of Occupy New Haven for flying Old Glory upside down.
