City Notice — Notice Of Decision

In accordance with Article IV section 3 (a) and Article V section 1 (d) of the City Charter, 2013 revised, notice is hereby given of the enactment and approval of the following named ordinances:

1. ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE # 1AUTHORIZING BUDGET TRANSFER #301 – 21‑1 TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM THE EXPENDITURE RESERVE FUND, OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICES ACCOUNT UP TO AN AMOUNT OF $850,000 TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT TEMPORARY AND PART TIME STAFF ACCOUNT OR HEALTH DEPARTMENT SALARY ACCOUNT; TO COMPLY WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION RECCOMANDATION OF A NURSE IN EVERY SCHOOL TO PERFORM TASKS OF ASSESSING SICK OR INJURED CHILDREN RELATED TO COVID 19.

2. ORDINANCE AMENDMENT OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS TO CHAPTER 29, ARTICLE VI AMENDING THE NEW HAVEN CODE OF ORDINANCES REGARDING POCKET BIKES, MINIBIKES, DIRT BIKES, AND ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES.

3. ORDINANCE AMENDMENT AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE III, DIVISION 1, SECTION 2 – 61; CHAPTER 2, ART. III, DIVISION 4, TITLE II, SECTION 2 – 152(B); SPECIAL LAWS, ARTICLE XIII, SECTION 273(1); AND TITLE II, SPECIAL LAWS, ARTICLE XIII, SECTION 278 REGARDING DISCLOSURE, ACCOUNTABILITY AND COMPLIANCE WITH LOCAL APPROVAL PROCEDURES.

Said ordinances are on file in the City Clerk’s Office, Room 204, Kennedy Mitchell Hall of Records, 200 Orange St., where they may be inspected or copies applied for and reference thereto is hereby made a part of this notice.

The aforementioned ordinances were enacted by the Board of Alders on December 7, 2021 by a vote of 29 yeas and 0 nays. And approved by the Mayor on January 11, 2021.

Said ordinances will become operative and in effect on January 20, 2021.

In accordance with Article IV section 3 (a) and Article V section 1 (d) of the City Charter, 2013 revised, notice is hereby given of the enactment and approval of the following named ordinance:

ORDER BY THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO AMEND THE ZONING MAP TO DESIGNATE 455 GREENWICH AVENUE AS PART OF THE BA ZONE.

Said ordinance is on file in the City Clerk’s Office, Room 204, Kennedy Mitchell Hall of Records, 200 Orange St., where it may be inspected or copies applied for and reference thereto is hereby made a part of this notice.

The aforementioned ordinance was enacted by the Board of Alders on November 16, 2020 by a vote of 26 yeas and 0 nays. And approved by the Mayor on January 11, 2021.

Said ordinance will become operative and in effect on January 15, 2021.

ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT FOR GREEN ORDINANCES AND STANDARDS FOR PUBLIC PLAZAS IN COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENTS IN THE BD‑3 ZONE.

Said ordinance is on file in the City Clerk’s Office, Room 204, Kennedy Mitchell Hall of Records, 200 Orange St., where it may be inspected or copies applied for and reference thereto is hereby made a part of this notice.

The aforementioned ordinance was enacted by the Board of Alders on July 6, 2020 by a vote of 27 yeas and 0 nays. And approved by the Mayor on July 14, 2020.

Said ordinance will become operative and in effect on November 20, 2020.

Said ordinance is on file in the City Clerk’s Office, Room 204, Kennedy Mitchell Hall of Records, 200 Orange St., where it may be inspected or copies applied for and reference thereto is hereby made a part of this notice.

The aforementioned ordinance was enacted by the Board of Alders on August 3, 2020 by a vote of 27 yeas and 0 nays. And approved by the Mayor on September 22, 2020.

Said ordinance will become operative and in effect on November 18, 2020.

ORDINANCE AMENDMENT OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS TO THE CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCE MANDATING TRAINING FOR APPOINTEES TO THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS.

Said ordinance is on file in the City Clerk’s Office, Room 204, Kennedy Mitchell Hall of Records, 200 Orange St., where it may be inspected or copies applied for and reference thereto is hereby made a part of this notice.

The aforementioned ordinance was enacted by the Board of Alders on September 21, 2020 by a vote of 25 yeas and 0 nays. And approved by the Mayor on October 21, 2020.

Said ordinance will become operative and in effect on November 18, 2020.

FROM THE CITY CLERK

• The City Clerk’s office will be setting up tables outside the front entrance on SATURDAY, August 8th at 200 Orange St. from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for registered Democrats and Republicans who have not yet received an Absentee Ballot or would like to cast an Absentee Ballot. 

• The Clerk strongly encourages voters to utilize the two (2) official State of Connecticut Absentee Ballot mailboxes located at both front entrances at Hall of Records building, 200 Orange St. to drop off their official Absentee Ballots.

• Masks are required and we encourage social distancing.

WE WILL KEEP POSTING ANY FURTHER UPDATES.

SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE TOWN CLERK

• State of Connecticut official Absentee Ballot mailboxes 1 & 2 (white & yellow boxes w/official state seal) are installed in both front entrances at Hall of Records building, 200 Orange St. curbside.
• You may also drop your Absentee Ballot application in the Absentee Ballot mailboxes. Mailboxes will be checked regularly.
• Absentee Ballots will be mailed out by the mailhouse beginning Tuesday, July 21, 2020.
• Please find key election information on our website www.newhavenct.gov under City/Town Clerk webpage within the ​“Election information” tab. See Absentee Ballot Primary Sample ballots.
