Southern Connecticut State University President Joe Bertolino brought his charm and outreach tour to the Fair Haven Community Management Team (FHCMT) Thursday night.
Yale welcomed prospective students and their parents Tuesday with a speech from the president — and flyers from picketing union members about a scary crime in the dorms.
Determined to advance initiatives that realize improved student performance, New Haven’s Gateway Community College has won admission to a network of “Achieving the Dream” schools.
Following a clash on College Street in front of visiting prospective Yale parents, campus cops are calling on the university to grant them the same First Amendment rights granted to students.

When activist Bree Newsome climbed into the history books by scaling a flagpole on the South Carolina statehouse grounds and removing the Confederate flag, many people assumed that one very fed up black woman had taken spontaneous action.
Stephen Brown shows neighbors a map and photographs of 320 Canner St., a two-story, single-family home that Yale is interested in purchasing and converting to academic use.
The Yale Divinity School is interested in purchasing a single-family home near its Prospect Hill campus and converting it into an academic building, thereby removing over $18,500 from the city’s annual property tax rolls.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Albertus Magnus College no longer officially honors Gordon Edelstein, who as of Tuesday evening no longer serves as artistic director of Long Wharf Theatre.

Ten New Haven Promise “scholars” — public school students receiving scholarships to cover their college tuition — heading off to Southern Connecticut State University next fall could have their housing expenses for their first year at school covered in addition to their tuition.
