At Wednesday's endorsement: Town Clerk Karimah Mickens, State Rep. Josh Elliott, State Sen. Cabrera, The Village leader Melissa Atterberry-Jones, candidate Stephanie Thomas, Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett, and Hamden Legislative Council President Dominique Baez.

The Hamden political establishment has thrown its weight behind one of the two Democratic candidates for secretary of the state: Stephanie Thomas.

Mayor Lauren Garrett, State Sen. Jorge Cabrera, and State Rep. Joshua Elliott were among the town elected officials who endorsed Thomas Wednesday and accompanied her on a tour of small businesses and summer camps.

David Sepulveda wrote a check for $73 Wednesday night — and Maritza Bond hit a round number bringing her closer to public financing for her bid for secretary of the state.


After receiving a $73 donation from New Havener David Sepulveda, Maritza Bond, New Haven director of health and candidate for state secretary of state, has now crossed $80,000 in donations for her campaign.

Rabbi Greer, whose companies have now been turned down by the Elicker Administration for state tax credit program eligibility.

The Elicker Administration has now said no to steering more government-backed money to companies controlled by imprisoned sex predator Daniel Greer — after receiving clarifying guidance, and biting legal criticism, from the state agency that oversees an annual neighborhood-boosting state tax credit program.

Three New Haven mayors have thrown their support behind Karen DuBois-Walton’s bid for state treasurer — and the current occupant of the city’s highest elected office has also officially backed Maritza Bond for secretary of the state.

Treasurer hopeful Erick Russell, meanwhile, announced he too has won mayoral support — from chief executives of other Connecticut cities including Bridgeport’s and Hartford’s.
