Sven Martson sent in these videos of crashes that took place this weekend at the corner of Edgewood Avenue and Dwight Street.
The first occurred Saturday around 8:30 p.m., the second, Sunday around noon.
Police issued tickets in both crashes, and did not make arrests, according to spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway. He said one of the four drivers involved “claimed a non-evident injury.”
That intersection is known for drivers running the light and causing crashes, like this one Martson documented last Sept. 21.
Neighbors questioned why the light at the intersection has been switched to flashing.
As a results of the questions, the city’s transportation department sent a crew out Monday to investigate.
“They found there was faulty wiring,” said mayoral spokesperson Lenny Speiller. “They repaired the wiring. It’s back up and running, no longer flashing.”
They plan to monitor the traffic signal, since it’s “older,” and “it will be ugraded in concert with upgrades to Edgewood cycletrack,” Speiller said. He urged neighbors to post on SeeClickFix or call the department at 203 – 946-8075 if they notice more problems.
