A 28-year-old man from Bridgeport was shot and injured on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard Thursday night.
Police spokesperson Sgt. Shayna Kendall reported the shooting in a press release email sent out Friday afternoon.
At 11:25 p.m. Thursday, she wrote, city police responded to a report of gunshots fired in the area of Ella T. Grasso Boulevard and Orange Avenue.
“While on scene, Officers were flagged down by a gunshot victim.”
The victim was identified as a 28-year-old man from Bridgeport. He was transported by ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
A crime scene was located and Investigative Services Division responded, Kendall wrote. The Bureau of Identification processed the scene.
