The police chief has placed two officers on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of internal investigations into two separate off-duty motor vehicle arrests.
One officer, an eight-year veteran of the force, was arrested by state troopers for allegedly operating a motor vehicle under the influence, failure to drive in the proper lane, and interfering, according to a release from department spokesperson Sgt. Cherelle Carr. The other, a nine-year veteran, was also arrested by troopers, for allegedly operating a motor vehicle under the influence and failure to obey traffic control signal.
Chief Karl Jacobson “deems these arrests serious, and he is committed to transparency and accountability,” the release stated.
