2 Cops Hurt In Fight

When officers responded to a domestic dispute, a 42-year-old man pulled a knife on them, according to police.

One officer sustained a broken hand, the other received minor injuries to his face.

Here’s what happened, according to city spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga:

On Monday evening Officers Joshua Kyle and Milton De Jesus were near the corner of Kensington Street and Edgewood Avenue. A woman ran to their car and told them her mother’s boyfriend had tried to strangle her. She told them that her mother was still in their Edgewood Avenue house with the man, and might be in danger.

The two officers found the man in front of the home. He drew a knife and began to assault them. The cops were injured while restraining the man, who was arrested and charged with assault of a public safety officer, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, strangulation, and threatening.

Officer Kyle was treated for a fracture to his right hand. Officer De Jesus was treated for minor injuries to his face.
