Occupants fired bullets at each other along a ride that took them from Grand Avenue up Orange Street.
The incident began Thursday at 6:15 p.m.
The police released this summary:
“Shotspotter gave an activation of 7 rounds followed by another activation of 4 rounds in the rear parking lot of 664 Grand Ave. Witness called in and stated 3 vehicles were involved: one being a dark colored Camry, another a grey colored Acura or Honda and a newer model grey SUV.
“Witness said all three vehicles left the scene headed toward Hamilton St. and Orange St.
“Multiple calls were reported of the same vehicles shooting from their vehicles at each other. There were multiple crimes scene located at Orange St. and Linden, 105 State St., Romeo and Ceasar’s and bottom of Exit 5 off of 91.
“Detectives responded to all locations and collected ballistic evidence. At this time we have no victims reported.”
SoHu (South of Humphrey) block watch captain Lisa Siedlarz sought to put the incident in perspective, in an email message to neighbors. She called the incident “very rare. In our 12 years of being a block watch group, this is only the 2nd occurrence in East Rock. However, I felt it appropriate to share with you as being informed is best. Especially if you saw or heard it and were afraid of what you witnessed.”
